First Day of School in Indianapolis: New School, New Adventure & a LEGO Surprise! 🎒🧱
The first day of school is always a big deal—but this year, it felt a little extra special.
After our big move to Indianapolis, today was the day the kids officially started their new school adventure. New school, new teachers, new classrooms, new faces… and a whole lot of emotions for Mom! ❤️
🎒 First Day Jitters
While I was probably worrying about a hundred different things, the kids seemed ready to take on the day.
Ziva walked into her new school like she had been there forever. No dramatic goodbye. No turning around for one last hug.
Just “Okay, bye!” and off she went. 😂
Meanwhile, Mom was left standing there thinking, “Wait… that's it?! You don't need me anymore?” 😭
It’s amazing how quickly kids can adjust to something that feels HUGE to us as parents.
For us, this first day wasn’t just about going back to school. It was another little milestone in our new life here in Indianapolis.
🏠 Back Home Again
After a long first day, everyone was ready to come home.
There were stories to hear, questions to ask, backpacks to unpack, and—most importantly—snacks to find. Because apparently school uses approximately 87% of a child’s energy in one day. 😂
And then came their little first-day-of-school surprise.
🧱 The LEGO Treat!
Of course, we couldn't let the first day end without a little celebration.
Our treat after school was a LEGO Speed Champions set from Aldi! 🏎️💨
Because if there’s one thing our family loves, it’s LEGO—and nothing says “You survived your first day!” quite like getting to build a tiny race car afterward.
The kids were excited, and honestly, it was the perfect way to end an emotional and exciting day.
New school. New memories. New adventures.
And apparently… new LEGO cars. ❤️🧱🏁
❤️ One Day at a Time
This move has brought a lot of changes for our family, and starting a new school is just one of them. There will probably be days that feel easy, days that feel overwhelming, and days that leave us wondering what happened to the afternoon because somehow bedtime arrived at lightning speed.
But today was a good day.
A day of new beginnings.
A day of brave little kids walking into unfamiliar places and making them their own.
And a day that ended with LEGO.
Honestly, I think we're off to a pretty good start. 🥰
Here’s to new schools, new friendships, new adventures—and lots of LEGO along the way! 🏎️🧱✨
